Summer's here and the time is right...

The days are longer, the sun is shining and the gloss girls are itching for that summer glow! At our pow-wow this week, as we fantasized about spending our days on the beach rather than in the boardroom, we decided we would post what we (the gloss girls) are most looking forward to this summer.

Laura’s pick: Shakespeare in the Park
For gloss girls who want to escape the busy city without the hassle of actually leaving, this is the perfect solution. What could be better than live theatre set under the stars and tall trees in High Park? It’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of bustling Toronto. This year’s performance is The Tempest starring Dora Award-winning actress, Karen Robinson. Bring your blanket, a picnic and arrive early – it’s first come, first serve for seating. Check out the CanStage website
for schedules.

Whitney's pick: Triathlon

The gloss girl is all about breaking boundaries and trying new things. I’m most excited to have a few new experiences this summer, including my first triathlon. I’ll be participating in Joe’s Team, a sprint triathlon in Muskoka on July 11th. Joe’s Team raises money for head and neck translational cancer research at Princess Margaret. We assisted Joe and Cara Finley of Joe’s Team with media relations this year and I can’t wait to see their hard work pay off in the form of a fantastic event! Want a challenge you can feel good about both physically and philanthropically? Try a charity race like www.joesteam.ca.

Lauren's pick: The Beach
I am most looking forward to soaking up some rays on the beaches of Toronto. I am most excited to hit Ashbridges Bay and play beach volleyball. It doesn’t feel like summer until I’ve played in at least a couple of tournaments!

Libby's pick: Summerlicious!
It's that time of year again - when we can peak behind the curtain (or should we say swinging kitchen doors) of the best restaurants in town. Summerlicious is on from July 3rd – July 18th. With 150 restaurants on board offering fixed menus at a fraction of the cost, gloss girls can get a taste of the finest fare in Toronto - a great way for us to experience restaurants that otherwise would be out of reach. Now it's just a matter of choosing where to go…so many menus, so little time…

It's not summer until you've been patio-hopping and ended up at a "street meat" cart! I'm looking forward to trying Toronto's new selection of cart food with a twist.
